Training Programme on Workshop on Occupational Stress Management

The Management Development Training Unit (MDTU) conducted a one-day Workshop on Occupational Stress Management on 5th February 2026 at the Coop Inn, Ampara, targeting officers serving in the Ampara District. The primary objective of the workshop was to raise awareness of occupational stress and to equip public officers with practical strategies to manage work-related stress effectively. The training programme focused on identifying common sources of stress in the public sector, understanding their impact on mental and physical well-being, and developing healthy coping mechanisms to maintain productivity and work–life balance. The workshop was conducted in the Sinhala medium to ensure clear understanding and active participation among the officers. Mr. H. H. U. Duminda, Entrepreneur Development Officer, Kotapola Divisional Secretariat, served as the resource person. Through interactive sessions, discussions, and real-life examples, he guided participants on stress management techniques, positive thinking, time management, and relaxation methods applicable to the workplace. A total of 35 officers participated in the training programme.
