The Management Development Training Unit (MDTU) conducted a one-day Training Programme on Front Desk Management on 6th February 2026 at the Coop Inn, Ampara, specifically targeting Primary Grade Officers serving in Eastern Provincial Council institutions in the Ampara District. The main objective of this training programme was to enhance the professional skills and service attitudes of officers assigned to front desk and public-facing roles. The training emphasized the importance of the front desk as the first point of contact between the public and government institutions, highlighting effective communication, courteous behavior, time management, and the delivery of responsive and citizen-friendly services. The training programme was conducted in the Sinhala medium to ensure clear understanding and active participation. Mr.D.M.S.B.Dissanayaka, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture, Ampara, served as the resource person. A total of 45 officers participated in the training programme.
