The Management Development Training Unit (MDTU) conducted a two-day training programme on the Importance of Public Financial Management from June 17th to 18th, 2025 at the Regional Training Centre of the Department of Animal Production and Health in Kallady, Batticaloa. This training was organized for Development Officers, who are involved in implementing and managing financial procedures within institutions. The goal was to strengthen their understanding of public financial management principles and practices, helping them carry out their responsibilities more effectively and contribute to better financial discipline in their institutions. The training programme was conducted in Tamil medium by Mr.A.Uthayarajan, Chief Accountant at the Ministry of Agriculture, Eastern Province. As the resource person, he brought valuable expertise and practical insights to the programme. A total of 54 staff attended the training programme and benefited from hands-on knowledge and discussions aimed at improving financial practices across various public institutions.
