The Management Development Training Unit (MDTU) conducted a one-day training programme on Preparation of Procurement Plan for Public Officers (Phase II) on 18th June 2025 at the MDTU in Trincomalee. The aim of the training programme was to strengthen participants’ understanding and hands-on abilities in drafting effective and efficient procurement plans. By fostering practical skills and strategic thinking, the training programme sought to enhance transparency, operational efficiency, and accountability in public procurement procedures. The training programme was delivered in the Tamil language by the Eng.V.Rajagobalasingam, the Provincial Director of the Department of Irrigation, Eastern Province. As the day’s resource person, he brought a wealth of real-world experience and technical knowledge, which significantly enriched the learning experience. A total of 24 officers took part in this training programme. Their enthusiastic involvement throughout the day demonstrated a strong commitment to applying the insights gained. It is anticipated that the knowledge acquired during this session will directly contribute to refining and elevating procurement planning practices across institutions in the Trincomalee District.
