The Management Development Training Unit (MDTU) conducted a three-day training programme on the Windows-based CIGAS from June 25th to 27th, 2025, at MDTU Trincomalee. This training programme was facilitated by Mr.P.Jeyabaskaran, Chief Accountant of the District Secretariat, Trincomalee, who served as the resource person. With his extensive expertise, Mr.Jeyabaskaran guided participants through the practical use of the CIGAS software, which is widely used across institutions in the Eastern Province for managing government financial activities. The training programme was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of how to effectively use the Windows based CIGAS to handle day-to-day financial operations. The sessions focused on real-world applications, encouraging hands-on learning and discussions around common challenges faced in the workplace. A total of 32 staff members took part in the training programme, demonstrating strong enthusiasm and active engagement throughout the sessions. Interactive discussions, experience sharing, and practical demonstrations made the sessions both informative and relevant, helping participants apply the knowledge directly to their institutional contexts.
